Location: Fern House, Stroud, Gloucestershire
Special Conditions: Travel including some evening and weekend working.

As part of the Individual Giving & Events team, the Individual Giving Organiser’s role will be to support the Individual Giving Coordinator in the day to day delivery of donor development activity across a number of individual giving activities in the programme, from the recruitment of new donors to the development of long term supporters, ensuring we take every opportunity to maximise income and lifetime value.

Job Purpose
To manage and support the day to day delivery of Individual Giving fundraising activities, including the recruitment of new donors, converting cash donors to regular giving, reactivating lapsed donors and supporting the Tribute Fund, In Mem and GAYE programmes.
Relationships
Internally:
- work closely with other members of the IG & E team to ensure the effective delivery of the Individual Giving programme.
- co-ordinate the administrative support of Individual Giving activity with the Business Support team
- work with the Communications team to keep them informed of campaign activity/individual news stories to maximise PR opportunities
- work with the Community team to develop supporter relationships that will help enhance the Individual Giving programme, for example Tribute Funds and In Memory giving.
Externally,
- manage agency and supplier relationships as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fundraising
- Deliver project-specific IG activity income within budget, providing regular income and expenditure reports to the IG co-ordinator.
- Provide support for the delivery of all Individual Giving appeals and donor communications as part of the Trust-wide contact strategy.
- At an agreed level of competency, use the Raisers Edge database as an effective fundraising tool, maintaining individual records, planning and making data selections to agreed briefs and producing queries and reports.
Note: Some training will be given. - Produce results analysis, monitoring and evaluation reports for IG activity as required.
- Manage external agencies and suppliers in the delivery of IG activity, ensuring high standards of delivery and cost control are maintained at all times.
- Administer timely thanking for specific types of gift as required.
- Administer the payroll giving programme (Give As You Earn) and the Tribute Fund programmes, managing external suppliers, ensuring promotional materials are up to date and of a suitably high standard and controlling and managing stocks.
- Support the stewardship programme, to encourage participation and loyalty to the Meningitis Trust as part of the contact strategy.
- Liaise closely with all Trust teams regarding IG activities, working with the Coordinator to identify and develop cross-team supporter development opportunities.
- Ensure all supporters are provided with highest level of care in every communication and at all contact points.
- Contribute to specific Trust-wide initiatives as required.
- Keep up to date with developments in the Individual Giving arena and across the sector.
Personal Specification
Essential experience
- Project management.
- Good knowledge of the production of marketing communications materials
- Fundraising experience.
Essential knowledge
- Understanding of the principles of direct marketing .

- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent numeracy skills, including the ability to work with and analyse figures.
- The ability to write clearly and fluently for internal and external audiences across a wide range of one-to-one and marketing-based communications.
- The ability to work with consistent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the flexibility to communicate sensitively and effectively with a highly diverse range of individuals both inside and outside the organisation.
- Demonstrable diplomacy and the ability to work in confidence.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Desirable selection criteria
- Database skills.
- Experience of e-technology and e-marketing.
- Membership of Institute of Fundraising.
Other requirements
- Commitment to the goals and values of Meningitis Trust.
- Full UK driving licence & access to a car.
- Some out of hours working, travel and attendance at appropriate events when required.
Benefits

Salary: £17,000 - £22,500 pa depending upon skills and experience
Pension: A non-contributory pension – the Trust pays an additional 8% of salary directly into a Standard Life pension
Life Assurance: 4 times salary paid in the event of death whilst employed by Meningitis Trust
Holidays: 25 days a year plus public holidays
Permanent Health Insurance: After 3 years’ service, staff are eligible for this benefit
Transport: The postholder must have a full driving licence and have a car available and insured for work. The Trust re-imburses all business mileage at the maximum rate recommended by HM Revenue & Customs.
The working week is 35 hours, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm with one hour for lunch. Some weekend and evening work will be required from time to time for which compensatory time off will be given.
