Michael Jackson Tribute Night
28 July 2009
Come, join in and celebrate the life and music of the King of Pop.
One of the country’s most popular and talented tribute acts will soon be moon dancing in Gloucester to pay tribute to the late Michael Jackson and to raise funds for the Meningitis Trust.
Bowden Hall in Upton-St-Leonards, Gloucester, is to hold a Michael Jackson Tribute night in aid of the Meningitis Trust on Friday September 11. The event is being supported by Star 107.5.
The tribute night is already attracting fans of the King of Pop from all over Gloucestershire and features Anthony Edwards, a Stars In Their Eyes legend, in an explosive dance and song routine which has wowed audiences all over the world, as well as on UK TV hits such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Tickets for the event are £27 with £5 from each place being donated to the Trust. The evening will start at 7.00pm and will include entertainment, a buffet dinner and a disco.
Matt Croxall, Community Development Officer for Gloucestershire, says: “Many thanks to Bowden Hall for putting on this fabulous event on behalf of the Meningitis Trust. I would encourage everyone to come and have a wonderful evening and celebrate the life of Michael Jackson, whilst supporting the Trust”.
Tricia Oxford, Events Co-ordinator at Bowden Hall, says: “We are all really excited by the evening as it promises to be a fantastic night out. Our aim is to help the Meningitis Trust to continue to support those who have been affected by meningitis and to create much-needed awareness of the charity.
“Please book your places as soon as possible to avoid disappointment for this sought after event, we hope that everyone can join us”.
Tickets are available by calling 01452 614121.
As many as 500,000 people living in the UK today have had either viral or bacterial meningitis. And up to 10 million adults in the UK – one adult in every four – knows of someone who has had the disease. The Meningitis Trust is a registered charity, which supports everyone struggling to cope with the impact of meningitis in the UK.
Money raised from the event will help to fund the Trust’s free professional services, including professional counselling, financial support grants, art therapy and a freephone 24-hour nurse-led helpline 0800 028 18 28. The Meningitis Trust is completely reliant on voluntary donations to continue its work, so events such as this party are essential to its future.
