Support for Life
As part of an ongoing commitment to improve the lives of those living with the effects of meningitis, we are asking sufferers to share their stories. The aim is to create a knowledge bank of information to be shared with people in similar situations, and to encourage a greater understanding of the after-effects of meningitis.. The campaign was launched by our Royal Patron, Her Royal Highness The Countess Of Wessex.
What we do:
• We offer practical and emotional support for life to anyone who has been touched by meningitis
• We work alongside health professionals including GPs, hospital doctors, nurses and social services to ensure that those affected by meningitis are supported
• We continue to explore research opportunities into the after-effects of meningitis
We have compiled a Support for Life report looking at the after-effects of meningitis and identifying what support those affected by the disease require.
We have tailored our own services to the needs of the people we help. These include a 24-hour nurse-led helpline, free professional counselling, one-to-one contacts, community help groups, a home visiting service and financial grants.
