Local Events

South Central England

Hello, my name's David Light and I am your local Community Development Co-ordinator for the Meningitis Trust.

I work across Hampshire, Berkshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight; offering support to people whose lives have been affected by meningitis and raising awareness of the disease and the work of the Trust. I can provide information by way of literature or presentations to schools, businesses and community groups across the region.

I also work with our supporters to raise vital funds through a range of fundraising activities.

It’s 2010, and time to establish a new set of New Year’s resolutions! Why not tie a few in with fundraising for the Trust?! For a full list of events in the South Central area, click here.

Other ideas are listed below. If I can help out with anything you are planning over the coming year, or if you need more information about meningitis or the work of the Trust then please do either give me a call on 0845 120 4766 or email me at: davidl@meningitis-trust.org

Music 4 Life

Musical prodigy Adam Tuffrey

Bournemouth musician Adam Tuffrey is once again using his talents to benefit the Trust by hosting a music, dance and comedy spectacular in Bournemouth on June 3. The “Music 4 Life” event will be a superb variety show for all the family and is taking place at the De La Salle Theatre at St Peter’s Upper School in Bournemouth. Special guests include Dave Shattock from local band Lemongrove and TV comedian Andy Kind.

This will be the third concert that Adam has organised and he hopes it will be the biggest and best yet. The 15 year old has already raised £4,000 for the Trust and wants to double this amount by the end of the year. Adam survived meningitis aged six and is keen to do all he can to raise funds and awareness for the Trust to help others who have been affected by the disease.

To book your ticket, please contact Adam on 01202 523590 or email tuffers24@ntlworld.com. Tickets are £8. For a downloadable flyer click here.
