| Meningitis is a worldwide issue. The Trust has operational charities providing awareness raising and support in the UK and Ireland.
Beyond these countries, the Trust works with partners on a range of activities including:
- We have helped AMP to provide a mobile laboratory to assist with early identification of the disease in an epidemic to enable rapid treatment with vaccines.
- We have produced posters for health clinics working with local health professionals operating the clinics.
- We are working with a leading paediatrician on some research into awareness of meningitis.
- The Trust carried out a training programme for nurse trainers from Hungary, who went back and implemented a full local education programme.
The Trust was a founder member of the in 2004. COMO is a global network of individuals and organisations involved with meningitis, and facilitates the sharing of information and ideas. It aims to assist fledgling organisations as they endeavour to establish themselves. It has members from every continent.
