We fund counselling, wheelchairs, speech therapy, specialist equipment and more. But we can't without donations. Please help.

Teachers, youngsters & parents

As children and teenagers are at most risk of contracting meningitis, we have developed a number of resources for teachers, youngsters and parents.

Teachers Handbook: Meningitis - Education for all

TeachersHandbookcover.jpgOur Teachers Handbook, ‘Education For All’ has been put together to help answer questions and concerns if a case of meningitis or meningococcal septicaemia happens in the school environment. Written with all ages in mind from the youngest to the oldest pupil, including staff, this handbook will help to give you information on the signs and symptoms of the illness. What to do if there is a case in your school/college. How and where to get help and support, plus covering the type of questions that may occur from concerned pupils, staff and parents.

The handbook also gives information on how your school might like to support the work of the Meningitis Trust and will give you contact with one of our local Community Development Officers.

Meningitis is the disease parents fear the most, our advice is to remain vigilant to its signs and symptoms by downloading our iPhone app or getting a signs and symptoms card. A parental instinct is very strong, trust it, and make sure your child is vaccinated.
