People who request a home visit may want to talk about their experience, ask questions about after-effects or want support following a death from the disease. A home visit can be a vital source of support and information soon after discharge from hospital. Many people also request support long after meningitis is diagnosed.
Home visits are provided through our UK-wide network of nurses, community team and counsellors. All our staff have experience in providing information, answering questions and offering support during a home visit
A home visit can be requested by calling our 24-hour 0808 80 10 388 - or filling out an enquiry form. A member of the services team will call or email you back to discuss the service in more detail.
David Heaton’s daughter, Rosie, had meningitis. David says:
“The home visit was a great help. It was comforting to have contact with someone who had knowledge and empathised with families who have had after effects of meningitis.”
