Our confidential nurse-led helpline is available 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year.
Your call may be a request for support, information, literature or you may wish to talk with someone who understands what you are experiencing.
We are full members of The Helpline's Association
and adhere to their good practice standards for helplines.
Calls can be translated into 170 languages using the language line service. The typetalk service allows hearing impaired clients to call our helpline. We also have an email facility. We are the only meningitis organisation to have a dedicated children’s helpline.
*Our freephone UK number means that calls from BT landlines are free. Other service providers and mobile rates may vary. Calls to our childrens’ helpline are free from most mobile networks.

Meningitis changed Portia Hampton’s life forever as she has been left with after-effects including hearing loss and low confidence, her daughter Carys is her inspiration. Portia says:
“Without the support I received from my family and the Meningitis Trust, I would have been truly lost. I was able to talk through my feelings and fears to someone who really understood. It was so reassuring to be told that what I was going through was all part of the recovery process after meningitis."
