Can't watch....

09-07-2012

Hi everyone, well you are not going to believe me but I am writing this whilst Andy Murray is playing in the final downstairs in my living room! Why I hear you ask, aren’t you watching it, well my nerves can’t stand the ups and down’s of it all, bad enough watching him in the semi-final, so decided I would remove myself from my husband shouting at the telly (didn’t know he was such a tennis boffin, not having ever picked a racket up ever) and come and write my final blog before I set off on my hols this week. Yes from Tuesday I will be away for 10 days back in my office on the 23rd July, off to Turkey for some sun……..

Just a couple of things before I go, if you have had viral meningitis and would like to help us out on the survey we are running on viral meningitis and its after affects and long term affects please have a look at the Meningitis Trust home screen on our website www.meningitis-trust.org, we are hoping that by hundreds of people completing the survey who have had viral meningitis we can get a true picture of what people go through during and after viral meningitis, which we do know can be very debilitating and life changing in some cases, so this is your chance to tell us all about your experience.

Hey ladies fancy a nice evening out, well look no further. Supporter Val Grantham Dykes who lost her little boy James to meningitis in 2001, is putting on a fab night especially for us ladies. Now Val is known to put on a good event, and I should know after going to many and also to a great golf day a couple of years ago so I can assure you it will be a great evening. It is called the “Ultimate Ladies Charity Evening” and is to be held on Friday 22nd September at Sale Masonic Hall in Cheshire, not far off the M60. Tickets are £15, including buffet and the night includes a glamorous Fashion Show, Indulgent Pampering Sessions to name but a few of the glitzy things that will be happening on the night. So if you fancy a night out with your friends you can order tickets off Val on 07805 822 941 or email, vgdladiesevening@gmail.com, love to see you there…

Now last April Morecambe Bay Walk had to be cancelled last minute due to the rain flooding the bay, so here is your chance to take part again this year. I have arranged another fab Cross Bay Walk for Saturday 22nd September 2012. Again it is being safely led across the sands of the bay by the famous guide Mr Cedric Robinson and it takes approx. 3 hours, leaving at 09.45 am. If you would like to take part please email me for a registration form on christineh@meningitis-trust.org. This walk is great for any age, children and our 4 legged friends love it too.

Right that is me done, back down to watch the torture of Andy Murray and hoping he wins!

Catch up soon.

Chris
