Five Valleys Walk - Sunday 27 September 2009

CONGRATULATIONS and a huge thank you to everyone that took part in the 22nd Meningitis Trust Five Valleys Walk 2009
The wonderful weather helped to make the day a record breaker and for the first time ever we had more than 2,200 walkers take part. Sponsorship has been coming in and we hope to beat our target of £60,000 raised from the walk. We have also received lots of feedback from walkers saying how much fun you had on the day.

Five Valleys Walk - Sunday 26 September 2010

Five Valleys Walk LogoIf you haven’t taken part in the Meningitis Trust’s Five Valleys Walk before, you really have been missing out!

The walk is 21 miles, but don’t let that put you off! You can do as little or as much as you want. It takes in some of Gloucestershire’s most beautiful countryside, weaving up and down its famous five valleys. This year will mark our 23rd event. You can get together with your family, friends, colleagues, walk alone, bring your dog, give your team a theme, dress up….the choice is yours.

The shortest section is just over a mile, so participation has never been easier! Walk just one section, link several together, or tackle the whole route. You can start and finish at any of the checkpoints listed below, some of which will be themed.

There is a section that is perfect for pushchairs and wheelchairs as it follows a cycle path from our Dudbridge checkpoint to Nailsworth.

Free shuttle buses are laid on, courtesy of Stagecoach, to take you back to your vehicle wherever you decide to finish your walk. Free drinking water, maps to help you navigate the route and lots of encouragement are available at every checkpoint from our friendly marshals.

If you would care to register your interest for the Five Valleys Walk 2010, please telephone 0845 120 4530 and we will send you a registration pack in June 2010. The pack will give you all the information on the checkpoints to help you plan your route.

Terms and Conditions of Entry
All participants take part at their own risk. The Meningitis Trust cannot accept responsibility for any damage or injury to persons or their property howsoever arising. Parents or guardians of minors are responsible for organising proper supervision and control of them. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Any photographs taken on the day by the Meningitis Trust may be used in future literature.

Our thanks go to the following companies who have either donated time, services, products or made donations to the 2009 event and we are very grateful to them  for their generosity.
