When someone we love dies it can be helpful to do something positive to honour their memory. You can remember someone special by donating to us in their name. If you are arranging a funeral for example, you might feel it is appropriate to ask friends and relatives to donate to us instead of buying flowers.
Increasingly more and more people have decided to remember someone special with a gift to the Meningitis Trust in their name. These are deeply personal and meaningful gifts and are very important to us.
To recognise the special nature of these gifts in memory, we have set up a programme to enable people to establish a permanent Tribute Fund in their loved one’s name. Friends and family can remember someone special and help fund our vital work in their name.
- We set up a named Fund in honour of your loved one. All contributions into the Fund make it grow and can provide a positive focus for the family.
- Any money already donated can be used to start the Tribute Fund, and family and friends can contribute in any way. Some people like to make a single donation on a special occasion or significant date such as a birthday or anniversary. Others may prefer to raise money by organising a fundraising event or getting sponsorship from family and friends to undertake a challenge. Do whatever feels right for you.
- Watch the Fund grow and know that every penny goes towards helping us provide quality care and support for those affected by the disease.
- When your fund has raised £500 we will send the Fund holder an exclusive Meningitis Trust Tribute rose dedicated to your loved one.

Rhys Taylor aged 4 years
Helen Taylor has established the Rhys Taylor Tribute Fund in memory of her son who tragically died from meningococcal meningitis, when he was five-years-old.
Helen says, “I am looking forward to having a Tribute Fund in memory of my beloved son Rhys, so myself family and friends can remember him as we raise money to help others affected by this disease. The Tribute Fund will be a chance for me to keep Rhys’s name and memory living on for the long-term in a very positive and meaningful way. I wanted to do something to remember Rhys, while helping other families who have experienced this terrible disease.”
