We are entitled to reclaim tax made on gifts by UK tax payers under the Gift Aid scheme. For every £1 you give to us, we currently get an extra 25p from HM Revenue & Customs.
As you will appreciate the additional money we would receive through Gift Aid would be an enormous boost to the funding of our support services, helping us to continue to be there to support the thousands of people who have been affected by meningitis.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can also reclaim additional tax relief on the difference between the higher rate of tax at 40% and the basic rate of tax at 20% against the donations you have made. You can then choose to donate this additional money to the Meningitis Trust.
Completing a Gift Aid Declaration is easy.

To be eligible for Gift Aid you need to be a UK tax payer and pay sufficient tax (income or capital gains) to equal the amount you have donated. We can then reclaim tax against all the donations you have made in the last six years and on all future donations you may make.
Changes in Government tax laws mean that, since 2001, certain donations to approved charities are eligible for tax relief. For PAYE individuals, this means that your donation could be worth an additional 66% to the Meningitis Trust ….at no extra cost to you! For self-assessed and company tax-payers, tax credits may apply.
