Centrica plc, the company behind British Gas, adopted the Meningitis Trust as its Charity of the Year for 2002/03 raising a phenomenal £500,000. In addition, vital meningitis awareness was generated amongst the company’s 30,000 employees. |

Property Consultants, Donaldsons, launched a three-year charity partnership with us in October 2004. Donaldsons employees raised over £220,000 in total, exceeding their original £200,000 target. They participated in the Trust’s challenge events, organised a Summer Ball for clients that raised £60,000 alone, and held a ‘Back to the Floor’ initiative for their Shopping Centre Managers. |

ICAPThe Meningitis Trust was one of the beneficiaries of a Charity Day held in 2005 by ICAP, the world’s largest inter-dealer broker. ICAP’s traders gave up their commissions on the Charity Day and raised £110,000 for the Trust’s awareness work with ethnic minorities. |

We would like to thank Halfords and its staff and customers for supporting the Meningitis Trust from April 2007 to April 2009. It has raised more than £140,000 through different fundraising activities including, car washes, parties, raffles, the Action Man pin badge campaign at tills and taking part in cycling events. Its huge effort also meant that important meningitis awareness messages were shared amongst customers and staff. |

Makro Self Service Wholesaler Ltd chose the Meningitis Trust as its Charity of the Year partner from February 2007 to February 2008. A fantastic £112,083.59 was raised from the partnership through fundraising initiatives, which included pin-badge campaigns, trolley tokens and company matched funding.Makro teamed up with consumer goods company, Procter & Gamble, as part of a cause-related marketing campaign. A further £69,843.25 was raised for the Meningitis Trust from sales of their key product lines.

Rainbow International end-to-end bike ride – the challenge of a lifetime. A team of intrepid cyclists from restoration and repair company, Rainbow International, raised funds for the Meningitis Trust by participating in a gruelling sponsored bike ride from John O’Groats to Lands End The team undertook the challenge within an amazing 10 days and raised over £50,000 for the Trust – a fantastic achievement. |

Shoe retailer, Shoe Zone Ltd, sponsored the Meningitis Trust's ‘Toddle Waddle’ event for two years. Additionally, employees held Fun Days in stores and the Chief Executive raised £14,000 by running the Leicester Marathon for the Meningitis Trust. The partnership in total raised over £80,000 for which we are very grateful. |

Health and wellbeing group Simplyhealth donated an amazing £48,658.26 to The Meningitis Trust in December 2007 as part of their ‘million reasons to feel better’ campaign. 1,292 Simplyhealth employees were invited to give away £1,000,000 (a massive £774 each) to one of 15 chosen charities. |

Supermarket chain, Somerfield Stores, chose the Meningitis Trust as their Charity of the Year partner in 2002. The company raised a phenomenal £1.5m – the highest amount ever raised by one company for the Meningitis Trust. £1m of this sum was raised on just one night from a hugely successful Charity Ball. |

Thanks to funding from the Ulster Bank Staff Charity Fund the Meningitis Trust were able to publish their children’s book “When Monty had meningitis”. |

Zurich kindly provided annual grants to the Trust over a number of years to help fund key support services including our 24-hour nurse-led Helpline and counselling network. Zurich employees also supported the Trust through the company's 'Zurich Challenge' volunteering programme. Staff manned checkpoints and acted as marshalls at our community fundraising events. They also gave out meningitis symptoms cards to students at University Freshers' Fayres |
