With the weekend’s news of Team GB footballer, Daniel Sturridge, being back on the pitch just three weeks after being diagnosed with viral meningitis, some people may think that the recovery rate from the disease is always this quick.

However, we know only too well that this is not the case and Daniel Sturridge’s recovery has been particularly rapid. For some people, the after-effects from the disease can last a lifetime and recovery can take weeks, months or even years. If you’ve been affected by viral meningitis, we’d like to know your experience.

Our survey, launched three weeks ago, is still live and we are looking for another 300+ people to tell us about how viral meningitis has affected them before our deadline of 1st October. Please take a moment to share your experience with us, as in doing so you will be helping us improve our care and support in the future and informing changes that we can take forward for you at a national level. This survey was launched in response to more people coming to us for support following viral meningitis.

We understand that everyone’s experience of viral meningitis is different, so we need to know how it was for you – helping us to build a bigger picture and make improvements so that you can have the support and care you need. Meningitis is a devastating disease – you know that, we know that, but we need to make sure more people know about its impact.

In coming together for this survey, we can increase awareness and make change happen for people living with the impact of viral meningitis.
