Meningitis Trust annual review

The last year has shown us what we can achieve and, most importantly, what a difference we make to people whose lives have been turned upside down by meningitis.

During 2011/2012 we saw a further increase in demand for our support, with home and hospital visits increasing by 24% and the highest level yet of financial grants, awarding £250,000 – an increase of over 21% - to 185 individuals and their families – an increase of 23% on the previous year.

We are reaching more people who can benefit from our support, and although with your help we raised £3 million during the year, raising the funds we need remains a challenge.

For us, it’s not about doing what we do because we can. It’s about making sure that no-one affected by meningitis is left to suffer alone. Because we are here, victims and their families will always have a place to turn and a voice that will raise issues and fight meningitis on their behalf.
