Senior Team

The team at the Meningitis Trust has, at its heart, the people that we are here to help – the people who are our inspiration to ensure we achieve our vision.

The team is led by Chief Executive Sue Davie, supported by a senior management with many years experience in their areas of expertise, and with a fantastic team of staff. Find out a bit more about the senior team and how to contact them below.

Sue joined the Meningitis Trust in 2002 as its first Director of Finance before becoming Chief Executive in 2007. With a background in the commercial world, joining the Meningitis Trust was the fulfilment of a personal goal of working within the charity sector by the time she was 40. Prior to joining the Trust, Sue worked for International Computers and the Dixons Stores Group (DSG) with a focus on finance, business development and merger/acquisitions. From 1999 to 2001 Sue was in California as part of the team that started the first free internet service provider, Freeserve.

Sue says “I am really proud to be CEO of the Meningitis Trust – it is a huge privilege & responsibility. I meet people every day whose lives have been touched by meningitis and it inspires me to ensure that the team and I keep driving forward to ensure that our vision becomes reality. With the help of our incredible supporters raising the vital funds we need, I know we can do it.”

Director of Fundraising and Community

Email Anne 

Anne joined the Trust in 2003 as the Corporate & Events Fundraiser for Scotland.  Previously, she spent five years at Haymarket Business Publications as an Events Manager working with business to business titles such as Management Today, Campaign, Marketing, Planning, Third Sector and Human Resources magazines.
The opportunity to help make some kind of difference to the lives of individuals and families across the UK who have been affected by this merciless disease is incredibly motivating and of a great personal reward to Anne.

"Working in the community, I see and hear on a daily basis the impact this disease can have and I’m determined to ensure that the Meningitis Trust has sufficient funds to deliver our life –enhancing practical and emotional support to all those who need it in line with our five year strategy, Vision 2016."

Director of Services

Email Alison 

Alison joined the Trust in 2012 as Director of Services. Experienced in developing new and existing services within the charity sector, Alison brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. Previously, Alison spent six years as Head of Operations at a local Hospice. Her involvement in the co-ordination, and development of organisations which provide clinical and support services for people affected by life threatening illnesses and disabled clients has prepared her well for her role at the Trust.
Alison says; “I’m incredibly honoured to be part of the Trust family and am thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time in its history. Working with our committed service team here, I know we can reach more people and provide support to even more children, individuals and families whose lives have been affected by meningitis – helping to change their lives for the better.”
