The Meningitis Trust medical panel help us in a number of ways – providing a sounding board, reviewing information, identifying contacts to extend our reach, speaking on behalf of the Trust, identifying new areas where the Trust could make a difference in the world of meningitis.
Professor Simon Kroll MA BM BCh FRCPCH FRCP FMedSci is Professor of Paediatrics and Molecular Diseases at Imperial College and St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. He is involved in research into the molecular basis of the virulence of meningitis and pathogens, and in new vaccine strategies to prevent meningitis and septicaemia. Simon has been involved with the work of the Meningitis Trust for many years, initially as chairman of our Medical Research Panel before becoming our honorary medical director in 2009.

Dr James Stuart MA, MB, BChir, FFPH was Regional Director for Health Protection Agency South West. He was also involved in the Meningitis Vaccine Project in Africa, which has developed a vaccine to address the epidemic levels of the disease and is currently involved in projects at Bristol University.
