Meningitis is a devastating disease and there are around 500,000 people in the UK today who have had either viral or bacterial meningitis.
Each year there continues to be a further 3,000 new cases of bacterial meningitis.
For every individual who has had the disease many more are impacted by it, whether they are family, friends or colleagues. Meningitis will never go away and so neither will we.
