Art Therapy
Are you, or your child, struggling to express difficult feelings through words? Art Therapy uses techniques such as painting, sand play and clay to encourage expression. This is a safe, confidential way to explore complex emotions after meningitis.
You don't have to be artistic – it's not a test of your talents. Both children and adults can use it, and therapists work with individuals or family units.
Complimentary Therapies
We can give information on a range of complimentary therapies that people use to help cope with the after affects of meningitis. We don't offer complimentary therapies ourselves, but can help with financial grants in the UK. Please seek the advice of a health professional to talk about complimentary therapies

Emma had bacterial meningitis when she was 17 and says, “ten years later I still felt tired and had no energy, so I visited a cranial osteopath.” A Cranial Osteopath gently manipulates the skull and spinal column to help restore balance to the body. It helped Emma to overcome her fatigue.
