How you can help us
Organise my own fund-raiser

Make a difference this summer...

Summer is here! Now the mornings and evenings are lighter, it's time to get into action and make the most of those long evenings.... and what better way than organising a fundraising event or activity.

Your fundraising will help make a difference to the lives of thousands of people dealing with the after effects of meningitis.

Whatever you choose; whether you give something up, conquer a fear, take on a challenge or organise an activity for your friends, family or colleagues - we will be here to support you in any way we can.

You may have your own ideas, but if you are looking for inspiration, please download our 'Calendar of Fundraising Ideas' which includes seasonal suggestions to help you organise your own fundraiser, for every month of the year.

You may also wish to have a look at our 'Step by Step Guide to Organising your Own Event' which takes you from start to finish through everything you need to know about organising your own event for the Meningitis Trust. It includes information on legalities, paying in money, licenses, public liability, Gift Aid, how we can help you, and lots more! Please email me (below) for a copy.

If any of our fundraising suggestions interest you, or you have an idea of your own; please either send an email listing which events/activities you may be interested in, or please ring:

Clare Cooke (UK) on 01453 769029 or
email clarec@meningitis-trust.org

Ger Mills (Ireland) on 090 6450531 or
email germills@meningitis-trust.ie

Whatever you decide, we can support you by:
• developing your ideas
• helping with publicity
• sending you literature about the charity
• information about Meningitis
• fundraising packs
• t-shirts, balloons, posters, banners,

  collecting tins and more.

MORE FUNDRAISING IDEAS...

Would you like to run for charity?
Most counties/towns hold their own half marathon or fun run. You can apply to take part (usually through your local council website, or athletics club) and choose to run for The Meningitis Trust. We will send you a runner’s pack which includes training tips, a running vest or t-shirt and sponsor forms.

Feeling silly?
Bored of your current hairstyle? Fancy a radical change? Want to make a statement? How about getting your head, beard or even legs or chest shaved or waxed for charity? Our Hair-raising pack will give you some ideas!

Feeling virtuous?

Getting sponsored may seem an obvious idea…
but it works! Is there something you would like to give up? A fear you would like to overcome? Something you’ve always wanted to do? Just do it, and help raise vital funds at the same time. We can supply you with sponsorship forms and information to help you fundraise.

Create your own event

Use your skills, talents, abilities and personal style. Choose a unique idea or something tried and tested. Plan a walk, organise a dance, climb a mountain, swim lengths of a pool, have a dress-down day, hold an auction. Be creative!

Donations
Simply give donations. For a birthday, wedding or anniversary, ask your guests to make a donation to the Trust instead of giving a gift.

Whatever you are doing, we want to hear about it...

We look forward to hearing from you!
