| At the moment, we are only able to offer this service in Northern Ireland.
We know that families benefit from seeking our help as early as possible. A nurse from the Meningitis Trust can visit a family whilst they are still in hospital.
She will take time to listen to the family’s experiences, answer questions about the disease and offer emotional support and reassurance.
The family will be offered a Home Visit for when they are discharged and can receive ongoing emotional support in the weeks and months ahead.
If you live in Northern Ireland and would like support in hospital please call our nurses on 0845 1204 680 or e-mail

At nearly 2 years old, Ben is finally home after spending 6 weeks in hospital. He had to have both legs amputated below the knee as a result of meningococcal septicaemia.
Jude, one of our nurses, saw Ben’s parents in hospital and has supported them through this traumatic time.
Ben is making an amazing adjustment to his new life. He will have his prosthetic limbs fitted soon and his Dad is planning their first family skiing holiday for when Ben turns 5 years old. |
